A total of 15, 29,323 students appeared the Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB). The minimum mark as per the criteria was 30 percent marks to be declared as passed in the matric examination. Thus, at least 30 marks out of 100 and an aggregate of 150 marks in total is needed to pass the class 10th Bihar Board exams.

In Bihar board matric result 2020, a total of 4, 03,392 students secured in the first division, 5, 24,217 have passed in the second division and 2, 75,402 students got in the third division. A total of 4 results were still pending, while 218 candidates were debarred from the exams for using unfair means.
Total overall percentage of passing stand at 80.59% which mean 12, 04,030 students have passed the Bihar Board matric exam 2020.
The number of boys passed in more this year than girls. Boys outshined girls in the exam. As many as 6, 13,485 boys passed in compare to girls 5, 90,545 passed in the exam.
Only 6 girls managed to make it to the top 10 merit list. Juli Kumari is the only girl with rank 3. She obtained 478 marks and aspires to be a doctor. Farmer’s son Durgesh Kumar who secured the second rank in exam aspires to study in IIT. Himanshu Raj of Janta High School bagged the first rank in BSEB class 10 examinations by securing 481 out of a total of 500 marks. He aspires to become a software engineer.
Bihar Board marking Scheme to Pass 10th exam
The student needs to obtain a minimum of 30 percent marks to get qualified for the examination. The marks from additional subjects will be adjusted and further the two 50 marks language papers will be combined and will be conducted only one 100 marks.
To improve this year passing percentage, the Bihar Board had also adopted the grace marks policy, if a student fails in one subject by 8 percent or fewer marks or in two subjects by not more than 4 percent marks in each, the student will be promoted to next class i.e. the needed marks will be given.
BSEB matric result was delayed due to coronavirus pandemic
Anand Kishor, the Chairman of BSEB, had earlier announced that the boards have planned to declare the matric and intermediate results in the last week of March or in the first week of April. However, due to the pandemic situation of COVID-19, the Bihar matric result was delayed.
A sum of 14,94,071 understudies composed the Bihar Board class 10 assessment, out of which 1204030 understudies proclaimed qualified for higher examinations.
